PERSONALITY:

Alexander Hamilton is a man full of words and ambitions. He's the bastard son of a Scotsman who grew up in the Caribbean and his mother died when he was a boy. He was taken in by another relative who also died early and his status as an orphan with little to his name drives his desire to make something of himself. He is ever striving to be something and always searching for a way to make himself a part of history.

He is passionate and commanding of audience, even among political rivals. He's never afraid to go against someone more powerful and established than he is and he is a champion for change and growth, as he himself is a self-made man. He is a man who throws his whole heart into whatever he desires, be it his wife Eliza (far too out of his reach socially and yet charmed by him anyway), his belief in American independence and want to fight for it (begging for a war so he has a chance to prove himself and then wanting to be on the field when it was clear his brain was more important than martial prowess) and his dedication to the infancy of the new nation of the United States of America.

He loves easily and is never satisfied, driven by his hunger for more and it's his downfall at times. He pursues an extramarital affair because he cannot resist something new in spite of loving Eliza, he presses and pushes for higher political importance and he pushes for the US Constitution even though it is something that is hardly recognizable to how it looks today. He wrote fifty-one essays as a part of the Federalist Papers to sell the public on the Constitution and eventually saw it ratified. He fought to have a national budget and went toe to toe with Thomas Jefferson over it, no small man himself.

Hamilton doesn't want to waste a moment of time, an opportunity, a shot. He writes like he's running out of time and he feels as if there's not enough minutes in the day to do all the things that must be done. He's a workaholic who can abandon friends and family in his pursuit of work and notoriety, leading to strained relationships at times with those he holds closest to him. Ultimately, though, he's passionate and driven to make the world a better place and has no fear of the hard work it takes to get there.
